Balcony Bridge’s journey to becoming the band in the park all started when Julian and Sean purchased battery-powered Roland Cube amps from Trading Musician. They immediately went to Cowen Park down the street and jammed for an hour before venturing to another park.
Thrilled with the experience, the pair brought the park idea to Jack, who was all in.
Performing in the park has become a band ritual that is tantamount to Balcony Bridge’s mission of bringing the music to the people.
“In the park, the music is played out into the world, to the Earth and the cosmos beyond. The park is inclusive and open to everyone. We are beyond grateful to be afforded the ability to play for an audience that may not otherwise be able to experience live music, ” said Sean Moran, Balcony Bridge’s lead Guitarist.
“Live music is mainly performed at expensive venues or bars, making it a somewhat exclusive experience. Getting to a bar with a newborn at home is impossible.” said Joseph D, an avid BB show goer.
“That is what bringing music to the people is all about, going to where the people already are and giving them a show because live music is a pillar of the human experience, and it belongs to the people. We all deserve to experience the magic of live music; we shouldn’t have such a magical part of the human experience walled off, boxed up, and exclusively held in bars” -Sean.
Balcony Bridge is showing that traditional venue spaces don’t have to be the only place for regular live music while at the same time, are making their mark across Seattle’s historic venue spaces where they bring high energy shows within intimate spaces.
You can catch them in the park or bringing down the house in a venue, Balcony Bridge is on a mission.
